"IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER FOR OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY"

CGGVeritas is a leading geophysical services company providing worldwide services to the oil and gas industry. As part of our business growth strategy, we are seeking to develop talent for the position of an IT Systems Engineer for the Jakarta Office.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duty is the daily technical management of the LINUX/MS-Windows based IT systems, which includes:

1. System administration: Operating systems installation, troubleshooting, monitoring, systems' tools installation, design. This can involve late or 24/7 work when required
2. Hardware, system & application software administration of the Linux-based cluster. Monitoring and improvement of LAN connectivity,
3. Storage systems management: RAID5 hardware & software installation, administration
4. Network monitoring and improvement: essentially Local Area Network
5. Indoors processing software debugging, upgrades, installation
6. Users support, application software troubleshooting, support for administrative staff (Microsoft products, backup systems etc…)
7. Tape drives support, operators (24/7) technical support
8. Active participation to the cross-training and expertise improvement of the IT team
9. Involvement in facilities management and HSE activities

Requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years experience in the IT field and Linux administration
2. Preferably software development background
3. Preferably Bachelor degree in IT or related field
4. No shift work, but important flexibility and commitment is required
5. A fast-learner and able to exchange / communicate on technical matters
6. MANDATORY proficiency in written and spoken English
7. To meet strict deadlines in an analytical way
8. Able to commit to operational constraints and pressure
9. Customer-focused attitude is expected
10. Occasional travel for training or support in the Asia Pacific Region
