AIR ENERGY

A major Owner/Operator currently has a live and active need for a Brownfield/Topsides Engineer to join their team on a long term contract (up until 2013) in Saint John's, Newfoundland.





Roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Engineering and project management for a number of topsides brownfield modification projects.
  • Development of the detailed project work activities list in specific work scopes and integration into the overall project schedule.
  • Support development of costs for certain scope elements and highlight impacts to the overall project estimate and budgets.
  • Monitor and oversee EPC contractor ensuring: Design safety, quality, cost, schedule, operability, reliability, construction, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support execution of the Engineering Surveillance Plan.
  • Reviewing, writing and updating scope of work, specifications
  • Review and markup of EPC and vendor documents
  • Participate in HAZOPs and risk assessments
  • Provide input to project Shutdown Management System
  • Role in fabrication as well as offshore construction including work pack review
  • Offshore role during commissioning and testing of installed facilities
  • Provide weekly progress report of activities as well as progress monitoring of EPC contractor.
  • Provide updates to management
  • You will be held accountable for the following deliverables:
  • Project Execution Plans
  • Various project management deliverables
  • Facilities input to various regulatory / certification requirements
  • Management / shareholder reporting
  • Further Interfacing Responsibilities include:
  • Production company facilities engineers / operations / maintenance
  • Project team engineers and contractor staff
  • EPC contractor staff
  • Vendors, fabricators and suppliers as required
  • Offshore construction / operations

To qualify for this role, you must possess the following skills/experience:
  • Canadian offshore experience
  • Engineering degree in related discipline
  • Past experience in PMT roles
  • Experience in facilities engineering for topsides facilities (preferably Atlantic Canada brownfield experience)
  • Familiarity with Offshore engineering codes and standards as well as hydrocarbon processing and utilities equipment
  • Experience in project management for topsides brownfield projects as well as subsea to topsides interface projects. Application of brownfield engineering and construction principles.
  • Application / knowledge of loss control /safety engineering principles including HAZOP assessments, QRA’s and management of change processes
